HOARY BAT - ONE-THIRD-GROWN JUVENILE

Ouray Ocanas of Fort Morgan, Colorado is a very observant young naturalist. Ouray found a baby hoary bat in his back yard and carefully (with gloves) captured it. The next day, with stepmom and photographer Mandy Colburn standing by, Ouray placed the little bat on a low twig in an elm tree. [Mandy Colburn photo]
