It isn't so much the amount of snow that falls on Northeast Colorado's high plains, it's the velocity with which it reaches the ground. A few inches can mean drifts of several feet. This was taken in mid-morning of the Audubon Christmas Bird Count for our local sector in December, 2007. Joe Rigli is vainly trying to dig out my high-centered Rodeo. In the end we had to call the County and be rescued by one of their graders with the assistance of a very helpful Morgan County SO Deputy.
