Buffalo Bur

Buffalo bur, Solanum rostratum, is a familiar weed in stock pens in this part of the world. It thrives in otherwise trodden places because its long, sharp spines cause animals to carefully avoid contact.

Sumac on the Praire

Wild sumac (Rhus sp.) is a very uncommon shrub in Morgan County. A few grow in the Justine Hills in the NW quadrant of the county north of Weldona.
