DOUGLAS A-1 (AD-1) SKYRAIDER

The last of the piston-engined warbirds, The AD-1, later redesignated A-1D, carried a massive weapons load and possessed two 20mm guns. They were used extensively for close air support and SAR missions in Vietnam. There were a few A-1D air-to-air kills including a spectacular up-the-tailpipe shot on a MiG-21 with a folding fin rocket!
