DESERT COTTONTAIL IN WILDCAT CANYON

The desert cottontail is the smaller of Morgan County's two cottontails. It is smaller than the eastern cottontail with somewhat longer ears. The back lacks the speckling of dark guard hairs found on the eastern cottontail. Easterns are riparian and suburban; deserts inhabit pastures and rangeland.
